Karlie overheard me while I was on the phone yesterday. I was talking about a friend of the family, who has a bad heart and had to go to the doctor. When I got off the phone Karlie asked me why he had to go to the doctor. I told her that his heart is sick and he needed to go get it checked out. She thought about it for a minute and then asked me, "Mommy, can he still love people?" And she seemed very concerned about it. I assured her that he could, and then we had a conversation about what your heart does inside your body.
