Washington DC

Scott and I just took a whirlwind trip to DC. We were there for business, but managed to squeeze in a quick foot tour of the monuments. We had to take a cab from Maryland, where we were staying, and have it drop us off in DC. We left our hotel at about 4:00 in the afternoon, and had to be back in Maryland for a meeting by 6:00. We had to hurry along, but it was worth the effort. It was also pretty cold out. I don't think that it was even 30 degrees, and there was a cool breeze. Fortunately we are used to that kind of weather.

The Washington Monument.
This is Scott entertaining himself at the Washington Monument.
Not bad for a self-portrait.
The Jefferson Memorial.
The Capitol.

President Obama's new residence. Maybe he was in there eating dinner with his wife and kids when we took this. Who knows?

Buffy

We managed to find a nice stranger to snap this for us.

Lincoln Memorial.

Buffy feeling really short.

Another kind stranger took this one. We returned the favor.
We also got to visit The Wall, The Korean War memorial and The WWII Memorial. There is so much to see in DC, that I think you need a week or two. Unfortunately, we didn't get to any museums, but we might go back in 2012, and we will plan for more time. Scott also got to visit his buddy from high school. We had a great time hanging out with them. It was a great trip.
