Oregon Zoo!

We decided to take Karlie to the Oregon Zoo while we were in the Portland area. The day started out a little wet, but it quickly cleared up and was beautiful the rest of the day.

All bundled up!

This is Karlie telling everyone that came to see the bears that there was a bear right there. She made sure that everyone knew it was there!

Karlie and I posing withe the penguins. Can you tell that I was saying cheese when the picture was snapped? This adorable guy did a great job swimming by all of us repeatedly putting on a little show.

The sea lion was also very friendly. He would swim up to the glass and look you in the eye, and if sea lions can smile, he was.
These are pictures of us riding the zoo train. Karlie really seemed to like this, and it was a great way to take a little break.

This was a stamp that Karlie got on her hand. She loved it. The littlest things sure make them happy at this age.
The Oregon Zoo had a dinosaur exhibit. Karlie was terrified of this mechanical T-Rex, so we opted out of visiting the entire exhibit. She is now officially terrified of all things dinosaur since this one turned it's head and roared at her.

What a sweetie!!

We had a fantastic time. The morning rain kept the Memorial weekend crowds away, so we practically had the place to ourselves. Karlie got extremely excited by each and every creature we saw. Seeing everything through her eyes made it almost as if we were seeing these animals for the first time too. What a great way to spend the day together as a family!
