After the wildlife safari we headed to the beach. It was really windy and chilly at the ocean, but it was the only day that we had to play.

Karlie insisted on bringing her Ariel doll to the ocean because "Ariel is a mermaid and would really like being back at the ocean". I love Karlie's imagination.

Someone had already written this in the sand, but it worked for us too.

Walking on the beach.

Playing
near the water with Daddy. We were told to be careful down by the water because they were having a lot of Sneaker Waves during the time that we were there.

But we still got our feet wet.

My girl and I.

Showing Ariel her old home.

A handful of sand.

We spent a lot of time playing in two streams that were flowing down the beach to the ocean.

One stream flowed between two
giant Oregon Coast rocks. We splashed and built dams.

One wet and muddy girl.

Heavy bucket drama.

She "crawled" like this up and down the stream, over and over, like a dog doing the crazy dog run.
We had a lot of fun but she sure got sandy and wet. When we got back to the truck we set her on the tailgate and used the bottles of water that were warm from being in the truck to rinse her off. Fortunately I had remembered to bring her dry clothing.
