Last night Scott, Karlie and I headed down to the county fair. It was 100 degrees when we first headed down there, but it cooled down a couple of degrees by the time we left. Nothin' more fun that dirt, hay, animals, fair food, rodeo, rides and carnival games. I do have to say that I was a little disappointed that the only place you can have beer is in the rodeo beer gardens. I guess I am used to the Lassen County fair.

After a corn dog, Karlie got to watch her own cotton candy being made. It was still warm when they handed it to us, and much better than that stale prepackaged stuff.

We got to pet a baby dairy cow.

Sheep up close and personal.

Goat petting.

More curious sheep.

A funky chicken.

A very vocal pig. This one kept grunting and snorting at us which made Karlie laugh.

Scratching the belly of a piglet.

We stopped and watch a little of the rodeo action. Karlie just couldn't figure out why those guys were jumping off of their horses on to those little cows. Don't they know how much fun riding horses is?

An airplane ride with mommy. We had to ride the red one of course.

A spinning berry ride with Daddy. This one went a lot faster, so it was hard to take pictures.

There was only one ride that Karlie was able to go on by herself. And she didn't quite reach the height line on this one either. But the Carny let her go anyway.

Motorcycles were her choice.
Hmmm.

She got the biggest smile on her face when she took off. The little girl that ended up riding next to her seemed to be having a great time too. They kept looking at
each other and giggling.

The fire truck was her choice for ride number two.

Back to the motorcycles for ride number three.

Tongue out again.

She won a pink dolphin fishing for frogs.

Next was the bass fishing game. The Carnies that ran the games were great with the little ones. They played until they won and they helped them out too.

She caught herself a bass right away.

She released the "bass" and picked out a big purple ball for her prize.

We got home at a little after eleven. It was still eighty-six degrees out. We all had to get cleaned up to get the fair dirt off of us. I think we all got to bed around midnight-thirty. Isn't the fair fun??
